Meghalaya Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Ernest Mawrie, ahead of state elections, said that there are no restrictions on consuming beef by the saffron party. He also added that the party does not think of any caste, creed or religion.
“It has been nine years since the BJP came to power at the Centre, and we have not seen any Church under attack. There is no restriction being put on consuming beef too. I eat beef and I am in BJP, there is absolutely no problem with this,” said the BJP chief.
Mawrie said, while giving an interview to IANS, that there has been no attack on any church since BJP came to power at the Centre. He added that “This time, we have fielded candidates for all 60 seats in the state. We are expecting a good show, and after the poll result, we may look for parties whose hands are not immersed in corruption”.
The state president highlighted that the party offers the possibility of peace and development in the state, requesting voters to consider the party’s platform. While the BJP is gearing up for the upcoming state assembly elections in Meghalaya, Mawrie expresses his confidence in the party’s position.
