The acclaimed director popular for his heartwarming and socially relevant films, Rajkumar Hirani, has once again won the hearts of audiences with his latest release, Dunki. The movie, starring the charismatic Shah Rukh Khan, is now available on Netflix from today onwards.
Dunki, released on December 21, 2023, is based on the Donkey Route many people follow to settle abroad. In the film, the director has shown the hurdles and challenges a person has to go through while going through a donkey route.
Other than Shah Rukh Khan, the film stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Anil Grover, and Vikram Kochhar in key roles. Though the film didn’t perform as well at the box office as Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Jawan did, Dunki became a hit at the box office and earned a good amount of money, even though it was a social drama.
Written by Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi, Dunki is a testament to the power of storytelling and the ability of cinema to inspire, entertain, and give a strong message to those who get charmed to go abroad and leave their country while using an illegal route to risk their lives.
