Quickly becoming one of Australia’s most dynamic country songwriters, Grace has been making waves in Nashville, penning tracks for her debut album with some of Music City’s finest and showcasing her music at legendary venues such as the Bluebird Café and CMA Fest.
Her impressive haul of independent country music awards, including ‘Most Promising Future Star’, ‘Most Popular New Female Independent Artist’, and ‘National Rising Star of the Year,’ and numerous nominations in this years’ Gold Coast Music Awards, speaks volumes to her rising star power.
An infectious run of singles over the past 18 months, has set the stage for the highly anticipated release of her debut 9-track album, ‘Old Enough To Know Better’, releasing on August 23rd. Lily is ready to share her latest project—a vibrant blend of country, pop and rock, that serves as a very personal portrayal of her journey as an artist and a young woman.
Since bursting onto the country scene with her debut single, ‘Annie June’ in 2021, Lily has received praise from CMT, national media outlets such as the Seven Network and a feature in American Songwriter magazine.
“My goal for this album, was for the project to have a distinct identity sonically. I wanted to draw influence from recent pop-country releases but also pay homage to the artist’s that came before me’, adds Grace. Underpinned in classic country songwriting, Grace’s talents are intertwined throughout her entire debut album, co-writing on every track and collaborating with writers such as Greg Barnhill (‘Walkaway Joe’ by Trisha Yearwood, tracks by the Backstreet Boys, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw), Kirsti Manna (‘Austin’ by Blake Shelton and ‘Loud’ by Big & Rich), Steve Dean (‘Watching You’ by Rodney Adkins, ‘Round About Way’ for George Strait, and ‘Walk On’ for Reba McEntire), and Becca Rae (‘Fix You Too’ by Megan Moroney and Kameron Marlowe) to write this project.
The album, recorded in Nashville, ‘Speaks to those who are chasing a dream, forging their own path or simply just trying to make sense of the world. I hope my fans can find themselves in these songs and my music makes them smile, touches their hearts and reminds them that they’re never alone in their journey,” Grace explains.
The album features standout tracks such as the catchy title track “Old Enough To Know Better,” where Lily playfully sings of staying young at heart and never wanting to be Old Enough To Know Better, and the poignant “I Don’t Wanna Cry On My Birthday,” an emotionally charged ballad about being homesick in a new city. The project also includes already released tracks including ‘The Summer That Got Away’ that sat at #1 on for several weeks on the Hottest Australian Country Hits Chart and ‘Follow My Road’ which was the #2 Downloaded and Streamed track on the top Play MPE Australian Airplay Charts.
