As the much-anticipated Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule finally hits the theatres on December 5, the film becomes the biggest opener for any Hindi film. The sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, Pushpa 2 collects 72 crore net on its first day, dismantling every record on day one.
“’PUSHPA 2′ IS WILDFIRE … A BOXOFFICE MONSTER…
#Pushpa2 is PHENOMENAL on its opening day [Thursday], setting new benchmarks at the #BO… Highest *opening day* ever [#Hindi]. Highest *non-holiday* and *non-festival* opening day ever [#Hindi]. Highest opening day for a dubbed film [#Hindi] ever. East. West. North. South… It was #PushpaDay across the nation… From metros to non-metros and mass pockets, #PushpaMania has taken #India by storm, and there’s no stopping it,” trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
According to the box office tracking site, Sacnilk, Pushpa 2 has earned a humongous 175 crore on its opening day in India. It also becomes the first Indian film to collect net over 50 crore in two languages (Hindi and Telugu) in a single day.
Breaking Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan’s record of the biggest Hindi opener, Pushpa 2 has created a new record for Bollywood. As the trends are going on, it seems it is almost next to impossible to stop Pushpa 2 at the box office.
