It’s been more than a decade now, when Vanessa Hudgens’ nude pictures were leaked, the actress called the invasion of privacy “traumatizing,” thereby marking a reversal from her public apology at the time.
In a recent interview, she revealed about how the whole thing was for her. In a statement Hudgens said, “It was a really traumatizing thing for me.” Further, she added, “It’s really f—-d up that people feel like they are entitled enough to share something that personal with the world.”
The actress, who starred in “High School Musical” was 18 when her nude pictures were leaked in 2007, due to which she had to face huge backlash from the public. Even she was accused for not being a good role model for her young Disney Channel fans.
In 2007, the Associated Press wrote a story about the leak that reads: “Gabriella and Troy coo, they make googly eyes, they barely kiss. They certainly don’t show off nude pictures.”
The moment nude pictures circulated on the internet, Hudgens issued a public apology, saying that she was “embarrassed over the situation” and she even regretted taking the photos. However, her recent comments, made people realize that she was a victim of a crime.
Hudgens in a statement said that people feel entitled to her personal information as an actor, but nude pictures had crossed a line. She said, “As an actor, you completely lose all grip of your own privacy and it’s really sad. It feels like that shouldn’t be the case, but unfortunately, if enough people are interested, they’re going to do everything they can to get to know as much about you as they can, which is flattering, I guess, but then people take it too far and end up divulging things that should be personal.”
The the-31-years-old actress has allegedly starred in many hit movies, including “Spring Breakers” in 2013, “Second Act” in the 2018 film alongside Jennifer Lopez. Of late, she is seen in Netflix’s holiday movie series, in leading roles in “The Princess Switch” and “The Knight Before Christmas.”
