ABC’s long-running ballroom series’ Dancing with the Stars’ has a new host Tyra Banks. ‘Dancing with the Stars’ is a celebrity competition series that was hosted by Tom Bergeron. Bergeron has been hosting the show for 28 seasons since its U.S. debut in 2005 alongside sports commentator Erin Andrews. Recently the duo announced their departure on Twitter.
Banks, the supermodel-turned-entrepreneur, has already hosted and executive produced her signature modeling competition series “America’s Next Top Model.” Apart from this, she had been a host for “America’s Got Talent” and a daytime talk show, “The Tyra Banks Show.” She also served as a guest host on ABC’s “The View.” Besides hosting DWTS, she will also be serving as an executive producer of the show.
In a statement, Banks said, “I’ve been a fan of ‘DWTS’ since its beginning. The fun mixed with raw emotion, seeing celebrities push past their comfort zones, the sizzling dance performances … it’s always transported me to my days of turning it up ten notches on the catwalk.”
Further, she added, “Tom has set a powerful stage, and I’m excited to continue the legacy and put on my executive producer and hosting hats.”
