If you think that engineers can only do engineering stuff, think twice. Shimal Atroshi, a 26-year old engineer, also produces art and uses the proceeds to help people.
Before becoming an artist and engineer, Shimal Atroshi worked as a construction worker, tailor, translator, administrative officer, and camp boss.
In 2018, he started a company called Newsazz, a construction and engineering company. He started the company with his cousins and brother. Just this year, Shimal Atroshi built a company called Smart Angle, which offered smart home systems and solar energy.
During the day, Shimal Atroshi manages his businesses. His work ranges from logistics to management. You name it, Shimal Atroshi likely did it. At night (and some parts of the day), Shimal Atroshi enjoys painting, drawing, photography, carving, and making handmade stuff.
His extensive experience and impressive skills lead 39,500 people to follow his Instagram (@shimal_atroshi) account. He also has hundreds of followers on his Youtube channel Shimal Atroshi.
“I am an energy engineer by degree. But I also love painting, carving, drawing, taking pictures, making videos, recycling, and camping. These interests keep me grounded and I am proud to say that I am both an engineer and artist,” Shimal said.
While his day responsibilities require him to use a lot of technical brain juice, Shimal does not forget going back to what he loves doing― other than engineering― art.
It doesn’t stop there. Shimal Atroshi uses his amazing artistic skills to help poor people as well.
“I began working at a young age to support myself and help my family financially. Unlike others who were born with silver spoons in their mouths, I had to work twice, if not thrice, as hard to be where I am now,” Shimal revealed.
“Now, I am giving all of the proceeds of my art to the poor. I know what it’s like to live that way, so I want to help them as much as I can,” he continued.
Shimal Atroshi may run multiple ventures, but he doesn’t forget why he continues to work hard. He keeps his passion to help underserved communities alive, and Shimal Atroshi is not stopping anytime soon.
