Allu Arjun is all over the news for the extraordinary run of his Pushpa 2 at the box office. However, the Telugu actor was arrested today by Task Force police for a tragic stampede during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. The Telangana High Court granted Allu Arjun interim bail for four weeks with specific conditions.
In a dramatic turn of events, the stampede took the life of a 39-year-old woman and left her son injured. The actor was taken into custody today at this residence in Hyderabad and brought to the Chikkadapally police station. The 41-year-old actor was earlier remanded to judicial custody for 14 days before being granted interim bail.
The superstar’s arrest shook the whole industry. Vivek Oberoi, the Bollywood actor, took a stand for the Pushpa actor and defended him in a long note. “I leave you all with a question: If this same accident had happened at a campaign rally of an important state or national candidate, would the police arrest them? Would they blame them for a law and order issue and treat the governmental figure the way Allu is being treated?” the actor wrote in his post.
On the other hand, the actor and politician shared her point of view at Aajtak Agenda 2024. “I am a very big supporter of Allu Arjun ji. Having said that, you have to set an example. He has got the bail. But just because we are high-profile people, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have any consequences. People’s lives are very precious. Be it smoking ads or a crowded theatre, I think they (the Pushpa 2 team) were present at the event. Everybody should have accountability.” Kangana said.
