Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 351-km long New Bhaupur-New Khurja section of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) in Uttar Pradesh through video conferencing. The government data shows that eight states are reporting most of India’s coronavirus disease (Covid-19) related daily death tolls. The total number of people have succumbed to the viral infection has reached 137,173, with 444 new deaths counted from across the country on Sunday. Delhi, Maharashtra, Punjab, West Bengal, Haryana, Kerala, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are the states reporting almost 71% of the new Covid-19 deaths. Amid the hike in Covid cases in Delhi, the Kejriwal government has increased the fine for not wearing a mask to Rs 2,000 from Rs 500 today. “People are wearing masks. But there is leniency as well.
