The makers of Border 2 officially announced the name of Varun Dhawan in its second announcement video for the sequel of the classic war drama Border. The sequel to the 1997 blockbuster film will have Varun Dhawan in a key role while it will be led by Sunny Deol.
“I was just a kid in class four when I went to Chandan cinema and saw Border. And it made such a big impact.
I still remember the sense of national pride we all felt in the hall.
I began looking up to our armed forces and to this day, I salute how they protect us and keep us safe be it on our borders or during natural calamities,” wrote Varun Dhawan on his Instagram, expressing his gratitude for becoming a part of the sequel to Border.

Dhawan added that “J P Dutta sir’s war epic remains one of my most favourite movies to this day.To play a part in Border 2 produced by J P sir and Bhushan Kumar is a very, very special moment in my career. And I get to work with Sunny Paaji my hero makes it all the more special”.
Border 2 is expected to hit the big screens on 26th January, 2026. The sequel will be directed by Anurag Singh, who has directed movies like Kesari, Jatt & Juliet, and Punjab 1984. It is going to be an exciting experience to see Varun Dhawan with the real action hero Sunny Deol onscreen.
