According to a new report, Daniel Craig will pass the martini to “Captain Marvel” actress Lashana Lynch. Lynch will be introduced as the new 007 in the still-untitled 25th Bond film which will release in April of 2020.
The news has undoubtedly come as a shock to James Bond fans and the film industry at large. For years there has been intense speculation about who would take over the reins of one of the most durable and profitable film franchises in history.
According to the report, the upcoming, yet-to-be-titled 25th Bond film will reveal Lynch as the new 007 with Craig’s character coming out of retirement for one last mission. The new 007 is said to have the task of heading to Jamaica to convince Bond to emerge from retirement and save the world again.
Lynch, who had won critics praise with her performance as an Air Force pilot Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel, which starred Brie Larson in the lead role. Now, the 007 producers are trying to bring absolutely radical twofer by casting Lynch as next 007. However, different people have different opinions about the coming of Lynch as 007, especially fans seems to be a little disappointed as they have always been looking for a male 007. Nobody even in the wildest of dreams imagines a dark girl replacing Craig.
Whereas for Lynch the role is going to be advantageous, and her personal brand will stand out from others. Lynch is going to be the first and only woman 007, on top of it, black. It however shows irrespective of colour, race, and gender, how readily we are accepting the change and how welcoming the biggest entertainment industry is becoming towards women. In fact, the step is going to inspire many women across the world for sure. This is the purest example of woman empowerment!!
