Guru, whose real name is Gursharanjot Singh Randhawa, has immense popularity all over the world. The famous Punjabi singer also collaborated with the rapper like Pitbull in one of his videos.
With close to 20 million followers on Instagram, 4 million on Facebook and over 864.2 K fans on Twitter, the sensational singer recently said that he has signed a contract with T-series for a lifetime. The singer has a jam-packed September ahead as he announced that he may release 2 songs a month from now onwards.
Born in the Gurdaspur district of Punjab, Guru started his music world by performing in parties. Guru has himself revealed in many of his interviews that in the initial years of his career he hasn’t abstained from singing even in small village shows.
In 2012, Guru’s singing career started when his first song ‘Same Girl’ was released. Though the song didn’t do well and couldn’t gain popularity, the singer didn’t give up and kept struggling. He then released his second song named ‘Chad Gayi’, but even that didn’t work much. The singer decided to release an album in 2013 instead of releasing singles post his continuous failures.
Guru’s first album ‘Peg One’ was financially helped by his brother and released, but again, he had to wait to gain success. A famous rapper came to Guru’s life as a Messiah when he didn’t get the fame after nonstop efforts for two years. Popularly known as Bohemia, he recognized Guru’s talent and gave him a chance to sing with the rapper, which changed his destiny when he sang along with Bohemia in 2015.
The song ‘Patola’ with Bohemia made Guru a famous singer and changed his life and career. Post the release of the song ‘Patola’, the singer didn’t look back. Some of his famous songs include Lahore, High-rated Gabru, Daaru Vargi, Suit, Slowly Slowly, Downtown and Raat Kamaal Hai.
Many of the Guru’s songs have gained over a crore view on YouTube.
