Miss Universe crown for the year 2019 has been won by South African beauty Zozibini Tunzi. The 26-year-old model allegedly defeated Miss Universe Puerto Rico in order to win the crown. Whereas, India’s Vartika Singh couldn’t even make it to the top 20.
South Africa’s Zozibini Tunzi is allegedly the Miss Universe 2019. Zozibini and Miss Universe Puerto Rico Madison Anderson could make it to top two as they were the top two contestants for the Miss Universe title. Miss Universe Mexico is alleged to be the second-runner up. Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray crowned Zozibini Tunzi Miss Universe 2019, at the event that was held in Atlanta on Sunday night.
Zozibini Tunzi is from Tsolo, South Africa, the model is quite active in fights against gender based violence. Her Miss Universe boi alleged her as, “She has devoted her social media campaign to changing the narrative around gender stereotypes. She is a proud advocate for natural beauty and encourages women to love themselves the way they are.”
The 2019 Miss Universe pageant that was held on Sunday night in Atlanta, the capital city of the US state of Georgia has finally got its Miss Universe for the year. There were total 90 women from across the world who participated in the event, and Tunzi won the crown by defeating all the other particpants. Contestants competed in various rounds, including swimsuit, evening gown and on-stage question rounds.
The final question that was asked to Tunzi was: “What is the most important thing you should be teaching young girls today?”
Making to the top five were: Mexico, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Thailand and South Africa.
After Zozibini Tunzi won the Miss Universe crown, Oprah Winfrey took to her social media and tweeted to congratulate her. Winfrey wrote, “Congratulations Miss South Africa, the new Miss Universe @zozitunzi! Agree with you…leadership is the most powerful thing we should be teaching young women today. We welcome your visit to #OWLAG, our Leadership Academy for Girls (sic).”
