A mother has made the bold decision to move her family from Florida to Las Vegas after facing discrimination over her job, which resulted in her son being banned from his local hockey team.
Sara Blake Cheek, a model and brand ambassador for ReelMe, was shocked when her son was no longer allowed to play hockey simply because of her profession. She described the experience as heartbreaking, not just for her, but for her little boy, who loved playing the sport.
Determined to leave the prejudice behind, Sara decided to relocate to Las Vegas, where she found a much more accepting community. “Vegas is by far the coolest place I’ve ever lived. Nobody cares what anybody else is doing,” she shared.
Since the move, her family has thrived. Her children now play football in one of the most prestigious programs in the U.S., and Sara’s career has taken off even more. “Moving here has opened new doors for me,” she said, as she balances her passion for sports and modeling in her new role with ReelMe.
Sara also offered some advice for other moms facing similar discrimination: “Either change your environment or keep kicking butt – you can and will win.”
By leaving behind the judgmental attitudes of her old neighborhood, Sara and her family have found happiness and success in Las Vegas, proving that a fresh start can make all the difference.
