National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the US space agency, has announced that it is enhancing its digital platforms and launching a new free streaming service called NASA+, which will live broadcast all the space-themed content.
The American Agency’s move is aimed at making NASA’s vast collection of content easily accessible to the public, which will include live streams and collections of original video series. The space agency has also released a video advertising its streaming service.
The new streaming platform is expected to launch in the coming months. The content will be free and ad-free, making sure a nonstop viewing experience. NASA+ will be available on NASA’s mobile apps on iOS and Android devices. For desktop users, it will be available on a variety of platforms, including Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, and Samsung TV.
“NASA’s legacy footprint presents an opportunity to dramatically improve the user experience for the public we serve. Modernising our main websites from a technology standpoint and streamlining how the public engages with our content online are critical first steps in making our agency’s information more accessible, discoverable, and secure,” said Jeff Seaton, chief information officer at the agency’s headquarters in Washington.
