Hyderabad golfer Sneha Singh won the third leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club, marking her first professional win. She rallied to victory after a rocky start to the tournament, trailing by two shots at the beginning of the final day and falling five behind by the turn. But she staged a remarkable comeback and tied with Jasmine Shekar at even par 216, leading to a three-hole playoff. After both parred the first two holes, Sneha birdied the 18th on the third attempt to clinch the title.
Sneha previously won the eighth leg of the 2021 season as an amateur and the second leg of the 2022 Hero WPG Tour in Visakhapatnam. However, she had not won a professional title since turning pro in July 2021. She expressed her happiness and said that winning the title would boost her confidence and pave the way for more victories.
The 18-year-old golfer, a BA Second Year student of St Ann’s College for Women, said that her focus for the tournament was to produce consistent performances, and she hoped that this victory would be the first of many. She plans to compete in a few more tournaments before participating in the Thai LPGA in Pattaya in March.
