Morgan King, a multi-genre recording artist, has released her long-awaited solo debut track, “Mirror, Mirror.” The rock-influenced pop song was released last month, on May 28th, 2021, but it has already begun to make waves in the industry.
The talented singer-songwriter has a knack for fusing a diverse range of sounds and styles. Morgan enjoys incorporating both sad and upbeat music into her songs and various genres ranging from pop, old-school emo, and pop-punk to trap and electronic. “Mirror, Mirror,” a surreal, psychedelic track enriched with vivid pop tones and striking rock movements, is both fabulous and unmistakable.
The song was written as a reflection of what we see in the mirror, or more specifically, how we see ourselves. Whenever we look in the mirror, we tend to form negative images of ourselves.
Morgan King, who is from Southern California, shares her own experience with the universal issues of self-image and confidence through “Mirror, Mirror.” She shares her personal struggles with body dysmorphia with the audience. Morgan encourages her audience to seek recovery, accept themselves, and practice self-love in the face of adversity.
Speaking about her debut song, Morgan commented: “When you look in the mirror, sometimes the person staring back at you seems like a horrible monster, but through self-acceptance and self-love, we can set ourselves free from that distorted image.”
Morgan King was pursuing her Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of Wisconsin before she embarked on a career in music. When she found her passion, she decided to pursue her dreams of writing songs and becoming a musician. Currently Morgan is working on various projects, including 88 Smiles, The Stars Lie, and her own.
“Mirror, Mirror” is now available on Spotify and other major platforms. Follow Morgan King on Instagram and visit her website www.therealmorganking.com for more information on her upcoming projects.
