Dancing with the stars, created by Richard Hopkins, is a U.S. reality show based on the British series “Strictly Come Dancing.” The show pairs celebrities with professional ballroom dancers, who each week compete with each other. These dancers are then scored by a panel of judges. Viewers are given time to vote for their favorite dancers, either by telephone or online. The couple with the lowest combined score provided by the judges and viewers gets eliminated. Likewise, the final couple who survive the competition till last is declared the champion and wins a trophy.
