Anisa Butt is a British Indian television and film actress, and she is one of the trending Bollywood actresses on Instagram. Anisa has worked in numerous Bollywood super hit movies, which include, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Half Girlfriend, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara to name a few.
RITIKA: WHAT’S FITNESS ACCORDING TO YOU?
Anisa: Fitness is movement, but movement which keeps you fit! From walking to hiking to playing a sport, I think fitness covers a broad spectrum of activities.
RITIKA: AT WHAT AGE OR STAGE OF YOUR LIFE DID FITNESS BECOME A MAJOR PART OF YOUR LIFESTYLE?
Anisa: So I always grew up dancing, but wasn’t very found of sports. In high school we played a bit of hockey and that’s something which enjoyed. However when actually first went out to India and begun acting there, I focused more on fitness and started weight training and running a lot more.
RITIKA: I OFTEN TELL PEOPLE THAT DEDICATION TO FITNESS STARTS WITH MOTIVATION. WHO OR WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO WORKOUT AND EAT HEALTHILY?
Anisa: I think at one point it was anyone and everyone who does it consistently, but now I motivate myself. The feeling I Know too well post a good workout motivates me to keep doing it, and I train about six times a week. Not only does it keep my mind stress free, I love it because I feel healthier and fitter! Eating healthy initially used to be challenging, but once I understood nutrition better, it became easier. I know like more home cooked meals and also try to keep my diet 80 per cent clean most of the time, which keeps me fit all year round.
RITIKA: WHAT’S YOUR TYPICAL WORKOUT ROUTINE?
Anisa: At the moment in the times of Covid I am working out at home. This is a variety of kickboxing and body combat Les mills classes to bodyweight training and weights. I run about once a week currently.
RITIKA: WHAT GENRES OF MUSIC DO YOU LISTEN TO WHILE YOU’RE WORKING OUT?
Anisa: It depends on my mood! Sometimes just background music from a class I am following. When I am running it can vary from pop to hip hop, to r n b and film soundtracks!
RITIKA: WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE MEAL OF THE DAY?
Anisa: Breakfast for sure! I love a good brunch!! One of my fav dishes for brunch is eggs Florentine! And a good morning coffee is my fav!
RITIKA: WHAT’S THE MAIN RULE IN YOUR DIET?
Anisa: Eat healthy 80 per cent of the times and try and have some protein in each meal.
RITIKA: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL?
Anisa: Fries fries fries!
RITIKA: DOES IT DRIVE YOU CRAZY WHEN YOU DON’T GET TO EXERCISE?Anisa: Absolutely! Bad mood galore!
RITIKA: WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER WORKOUT HEAVEN?
Anisa: I love boxing! And mixed martial arts, but honestly enjoy a variety.
RITIKA: ONE FITNESS AND LIFESTYLE ADVICE YOU WOULD LIKE TO GIVE TO OUR READERS
Anisa: I would say don’t compare your routine to other people’s. Everyone’s fitness ability varies as well as dietary needs. You can’t replicate one person’s plan for someone else. I would say make sure your not deficient in any vitamins, try and eat fresh foods, and cook as much as possible, as opposed to take out meals. Try and minimise sugar, because it can cause excess inflammation, and other health related diseases. And just try to move, doing whatever you enjoy, if you can about thrice a week, especially considering we are more stationary than used to be.
