Socialite and reality star Paris Hilton retweeted a video that caught the attention of many people. “Iconic” – she wrote to Pamela Hilton who posted a video on YouTube titled “I Lived Like Marilyn Monroe for a Day”.
In the video, a platinum-haired blonde wearing vintage clothes walks around Seoul, South Korea, as one of Hollywood’s greatest icons on the silver screen, Marilyn Monroe. Her hair is almost white, her skin is milky, and she looks like she came from the 1950s.
“When Paris Hilton was filming her phenomenal YouTube documentary “This Is Paris”, we met in Korea, and she started calling me her Baby Marilyn,” – Pamela shares in her YouTube video. “Since then some people started noticing similarities between me and Marilyn which I personally don’t see myself but of course it’s one of the best compliments that I’ve ever received.”
Pamela has a breathy voice, just like Marilyn herself, but she claims it comes naturally due to her stuttering. “She [Marilyn] had a stutter just like me” – the content creator shares in the video, “Growing up with the stuttering, I always felt alone. I used to think that I was the only person who stuttered. But in one of the books it was mentioned that Marilyn Monroe had a stutter and that was so special to me, not to feel alone.”
In the video Pamela pays a tribute to her long-time idol and inspiration who is no other than the greatest movie star of the Golden Age of cinema – hence, the video’s title is “I lived like Marilyn Monroe for a day”. The singer and content creator did an extensive research on Monroe’s daily routine, starting with her unique breakfast recipe, spending days in libraries and even eating her favorite candy.
